Skilled Worker Visa allows you to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer.
The prerequisite requirement for a Skilled Worker application is that you must be sponsored for a skilled job by a UK employer holding Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence. The list of organisations that hold a sponsor licence in the UK is available from the Home Office website.
The Skilled Worker visa falls under the point based system (PBS) category. Points are awarded for the certificate of sponsorship (CoS), English language, salary threshold requirements, qualifications, job skill level, applicant being entrant to the labour market and job in shortage occupation
Unlike the previous Tier 2 work visa route, there is no requirement for employers sponsoring skilled workers under the Skilled Worker route to undertake a Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT). However, sponsors must still be seeking to fill a genuine vacancy which meets the relevant salary and skill level as set out in the rules.
